Work History (After Admission to Bar in 1988)
From 1988 to 1990 Neil tried his first 4 jury trials and several bench trials while an associate at Rawlings, Olson and Cannon where he practiced insurance, Product Liability and professional malpractice defense. In January 1991 Neil founded Mullins Law Firm where he practiced family law, personal injury, business and real estate litigation until 2000, when his practice focused nearly exclusively on family law. Neil has extensive trial and family law experience. Neil has tried more than 12 civil jury trials, more than 100 bench trials; and he has represented more than 2500 family law clients over the past several decades. He has served as a private arbitrator and mediator to assist with case resolution for lawyers seeking alternative dispute resolution for their clients.
From August 2014 to October 2023 Neil was privileged to join his distinguished colleague and friend, Ed Kainen, as a partner, at Kainen Law Group, an AV rated firm. At Kainen Neil’s practice focused on complex family law litigation and division and valuation of high asset marital estates. Neil has has presented at continuing legal education classes in he areas of the use of psychological experts in custody cases; tax implications of divorce settlements; and alternative dispute resolution; and mediation.
